We travel from Hobart heading east then following the coastline north. We travel through the seaside towns of Orford and Swansea as we make our way along the East Coast of Tasmania heading towards Freycinet National Park. We enjoy a brief stop at some of the local highlights along the way at Spiky Bridge, a convict built bridge, picturesque Spiky Beach and then onwards into the National Park.
We walk as a group to the Wineglass Bay Lookout where your guide will help you take those sought after photographs. Enjoy the moment and take in the rewarding and world famous view after your walk uphill. The walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout is one of the Great Short Walks of Tasmania and usually takes around 1 -1.5 hours and is a 1.3 km walk each way. The walk to the Lookout being an uphill walk and then downhill on the return leg.
From the Lookout you have the option to return to the start of the walk with our tour guide, or for the keen walkers you can choose to spend the rest of your time completing the walk down to Wineglass beach (2.5 hr return). Feel the famous sand between your toes, enjoy a lunch break or take a swim in this beautiful setting. The choice is yours.
If you choose to travel with our guide, we will explore more of the National Park and visit Honeymoon Bay, Sleepy Bay and Cape Tourville lookout and Great Short Walk.
After a very full 4–5 hours at Freycinet National Park we begin the trip back to Hobart. We have a brief stop at the Freycinet Marine Farm for anyone interested in sampling the local oysters, mussels or crayfish fresh from the pristine waters.
Last but certainly not least we stop at the famous Kate’s Berry Farm where Kate is serving up absolutely delicious Berry Ice-creams and other delights, jams, sauces, chocolates and jellies.
We return to Hobart to your accommodation around 6.30 – 7.00pm.
