Begin early in the morning with pickup from your Melbourne hotel, then settle into your private vehicle for the 3-hour journey to the snow, which offers great views of the Yarra Valley along the way. Mt Buller ski resort is situated at more than 5,900 feet (1,800 meters) above sea level, with 300 hectares of snow-covered slopes, twenty-five ski lifts, and hotels and restaurants on-site. Stop en route in the small town of Mansfield at the base of Mt Buller. There, you can purchase or rent the equipment and clothing you need. Have approximately six hours for skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing, then settle into your private vehicle for the return trip to Melbourne.
